Microsoft Phone Data Manager Beta Posted: 29 Sep 2008 08:34 PM CDT Microsoft Phone Data Manager Beta Microsoft has released a beta of Phone Data Manager, a utility designed to backup select data ( contacts, music, video and photos )on your Windows Mobile phone (or other SyncML/OBEX standard compliant handset) so you can restore it with ease. The beta works both with Windows Live Contacts and a Windows PC. Its not a complete Backup solution,but does offer some benefits. Contacts are saved on to Windows Live, while media files are stored in a folder on your Windows XP or Vista PC. In order for you to synchronize contacts, you will need to have a Windows Live ID (any Hotmail ID is a valid Windows Live ID). If you do not have one, you will be prompted to create one while you use the application. TodayAgenda 1.1 - task and appointments on today screen Posted: 28 Sep 2008 10:01 PM CDT TodayAgenda The default task and appointments on today screen is not a great feature of Windows Mobile , On a scale of 1-5 where 1 is the lowest I would rate it 0. Many commercial application like SPB Diary offers a very powerful today plugin replacement for task and appointments. Recently I was looking for a freeware alternative for the same and came across TodayAgenda. TodayAgenda displays appointments and tasks on your today screen up to 30 days in advance. It replaces the default Outlook plugin with a lot of more features. On a scale of 1-5 this gets a 4. The only drawback I found was that it takes a while to refresh the today screen plugin once changes are made. How would you rate this application ? It has a new version of Opera Mobile Its got Flash support, a Zoom slider along the bottom instead of just double tap to zoom and a search bar along the bottom to top it all of a neat 3D tab to switch between open websites 2. The camera doesn’t have a flash No more flashlight application for my HTC 3. In order to take a picture with the camera, you must tap on the screen - there is no hardware button to use Nothing in the world should be perfect , so lets take the Camera button off 4.
